This is a lame attempt to “encourage” BMW motorcycle dealers to sell only original accessories. Some aftermarket accessories were dangerous, but many were far superior to the factory stuff.
To keep the factory sales manager happy, my dealership, BMW of Marin, had a special pegboard with many or all factory accessories mounted. However, in nearly all cases, some aftermarket firm had a better product. Guess which we recommended?
