Old German motorcycle and scooter books, parts lists and warranty papers

by Duane Ausherman

A friend has asked me to sell these old books for him. There is no hurry, as we want to find the right home for them. If you have questions, just ask. Email me at w6rec @ sbcglobal (delete the two spaces in that address) I will entertain offers, but soon they may go on eBay.

Adler club

I hope that all 5 of the Adler items go to one home.

adler.jpg (49784 bytes)

This sales brochure is 19.7 cm X 12.8 cm (7 3/4" X 5") and folds out to make 6 pages of color drawings, technical info and photos. I see no print date, but it is claiming to have been in business "vor hundert jahren" or one hundred years. It is in very good condition.

dealers.jpg (83075 bytes)

This booklet lists the dealers for Adler and has 14 maps of where they are located. It is 10.4 cm X 14.8 cm (4" X 5 3/4") and has 28 pages. The only date I see is 1953. It is in good condition, but a bit dirty from greasy hands.

battery.jpg (43848 bytes)

This 6 page booklet is the Bosch Garantie-Karte or warranty card. It is 14.3 cm X 10 cm (5 5/8" X 4") and is in good condition. The printing date is 1953.

chain.jpg (124820 bytes)

Instructions from Jwis, the chain manufacturer. It is a single piece of paper with a couple of sketches of the chain. It is 15 cm X 21 cm (6" X 8 1/4") and is in fair condition. The printing date is 1952.

envelope.jpg (21738 bytes)

This envelope is addressed to Adlerwerke in Frankfurt. It is in fair condition still. It is 15.5 cm X 8 cm (6" X 3 1/4") and is postmarked in 1954. It is sealed shut and I don't want to ruin its originality. It may contain a lot of money, but that is your risk:-)

Very rare BMW parts list of available manuals

1.jpg (73870 bytes)

For automobiles 501 and 502. Motorcycles R25, R25/2, R25/3, R26, R27, R51/3, R67, R67/3, R68, R50, R60, R69, R50S and R69S. BMW Isetta, 600 and the Industriemotor, BMW 700 and 1.5 L. The 7 digit part numbers are used and many manuals are available in different languages. Most show price lists, parts and work shop manuals. The print date is 1962. It has 10 pages and is in great condition. I have never seen this booklet before in my life. It is written in German, but easy to read. While it is obvious that the R50/2 and R60/2 are included with the R50S and R69S, BMW does not specify them as such. The workshop manual for the Earles fork models in 4 languages is only 10 DM, or about US $2.50. Not a bad buy by today's prices. I wish I had one of each manual listed. This should go to some museum.  This book has been copied and posted on John's Beemer Garage.

Forks

fork1.jpg (81240 bytes)    fork2.jpg (73202 bytes)

This 4 page parts manual shows the fork parts and names in German. I would guess that this company contracted to make forks for some of the many brands of motorcycles of that era. No date is shown. The size is 14.7 cm X 21 cm (5 3/4" X 8 1/4") and it is in good condition.

The Victoria Vicki powered bicycle parts book

victoria.jpg (46198 bytes)  victoria1.jpg (52441 bytes)

This 21 page parts book is from 1950. It shows many sketches of the engine, fuel tank and drive of this little 38 cc add on engine for a pedal bike. It is 14.6 cm X 20.7 cm ( 5 3/4" X 8") and is in faded, but fair condition.

Maico Mobil scooter manual

maico1.jpg (30905 bytes)    maico2.jpg (29052 bytes)

This 53 page owners manual and I think it is in Danish. The main part of the manual is all there, but what looks like an addition to the rear is damaged and I doubt it is all there. The front and rear cover is missing. You can see the front and back above. It is 15 cm X 10.5 cm ( 6" X 4") and the print date is unknown.

Puch motorcycle owners manual

puch.jpg (66418 bytes)

This is a Danish language owners manual in the plastic pouch with 4 other items. A small one seems to be riding rules for a motorcycle. One is the owners manual for the Puch 3 speed moped model MS50. Another is for lubrication and technical data. The last is unknown to me. I see print dates of 1969 and 70. These are in nearly perfect condition. The main owners manual is 56 pages of text and sketches. In the back are 7 wonderful fold out drawings of the assemblies of high quality. I hope that the right person finds this one.
