I think that this was the first in a long line of attempts to make the disc brake work on the 1974 BMW motorcycle models known as the /6. This is only of historical interest, as it is mostly nonsense. Even the Federally mandated stopping distance results that were required to be included with every motorcycle, showed that the stopping distance was greater than the drum brakes on the /5. Duh.
