Day 7

I slept very well last night.  Each time I woke up, it was an hour or 1 ½ hour later.  Each time I was in the same position, so I hadn’t tossed and turned.  I woke at 6:15 AM and wondered if I could push this even more.  Then I woke at 7:35 AM.  There goes my theory that my Penicillin injection was the cause of my previous poor sleep.

I went for a 3.5-mile walk this morning, and while it usually takes me 36 minutes, it took me just over 40 because I wasn’t in a hurry.  As usual, I took a nap after my walk.

I “thought” that I got started on my to-do list and completed it easily.  I was quite annoyed that it was so short and easy.  Then I woke up😊

At noon I had a good appetite and ate my usual items.

My blood pressure is 134/82, and my temperature is 96.6 F.  My weight is down to 162.2 lbs.  That is too low.

My visit to Kaiser was to change my dressing where the line enters the Pic line.  It went well.  The RN gave me an extension for the line, which I like.  She also gave me a much longer sock to go over my arm, and it should stay in place far better than the old short one.

I go back next week to get the Pic line removed because I will be done with the Penicillin infusion.

The delivery of my last 5 Penicillin containers arrived today on schedule.

At 3.30 PM, I removed my empty one and installed the full Penicillin container.

For dinner, I had asparagus tips, black beans, broccoli, cauliflower, split pea soup, mashed potatoes, and peanut butter cups.  I was hungry.

In the evening, I watched a TV show about a couple who moved to the artic and built a cabin and everything that they needed.

I am fairly confident that I will sleep well tonight.

Day 6

Day 6

I slept poorly again and I think it may be related to the Penicillin infusion.

I did some rearranging of my bedroom and refrigerator.

The air is so clear that I put my knee pads on and went for a walk.  I took my cane but I didn’t need it.  This was my usual walk before I got sick.  It takes me 38 minutes, but I was in no hurry and made it in just over 40.  I collected 7 CRV for Rianne.

At noon, I cooked up another Beyond Meat patty, ate two spears of asparagus, broccoli, cauliflower, black beans and mashed potatoes.  My appetite as back to normal.

I took a short nap because I am making up for less sleep at night.

I changed my Penicillin container at 3:30 PM as usual.

I got a call from Kaiser and I have a dressing change tomorrow at 1:30 PM.

My temperature is normal at 97.1  My blood pressure is 134/89 and almost the same as last time.

Kaiser has scheduled me to get a new arm dressing at 1:30 pm.  I change the Penicillin container at 3:30 pm.

I have a video conference with my Kaiser primary care Dr. Oide.  I don’t know the time, so a conflict may exist.

I have put off getting the Ford Fusion recall work done this Friday.  We will reschedule it for a later date.

Pool Videos

This is a YouTube video of me shooting pool one handed. It had been about 20 years since I had been playing pool often, so I was way out of practice.

This video shows a straight in shot. The goal is to get position for the next shot that is at the end of the table where I am standing. A draw shot would be nearly impossible. Instead I shot to hit the rail first and then the object ball. The cue ball then traveled around the table and into perfect position. I made this shot on the first try.

This shot shows the cue ball frozen on a ball that is against the rail. Notice that the cue ball is not at a right angle to the object ball, it is closer to the pocket. This shot is illegal but there is a legal way to bank it across the table and into the corner pocket. It took me several tries to make it the legal way. We didn’t take a video of it.
This shot shows the cue ball behind another ball. Nothing can be pocketed, so the best thing to do is to improve the conditions. This shows that I can shoot “through” the ball that is in the way to hit and break away those two balls that are against the rail.
